My name is Shazmeen and I am a mixed media artist based in the UK. I am from a Bengali Muslim family which sometimes influences the work I create but I like to keep those private. I am a very private person who doesn’t like to share too much and therefore have never showcased my work on this scale before. Creativity was not always my interest; it was when I won the Prince Charles' birthday bookmark competition in 2008 that my interest for art developed and I am now studying fine art at university.

 

I don't like to limit myself when it comes to what I create; I like to explore a range of themes and ideas and how I can use multiple mediums to create my own interpretations. Taking inspiration from other artists and adding my own twist is how my experiments develop in order to create a final piece or a series of final outcomes.
